Curatorial Note:

Tadako Hibi was assistant to Jessie Howie and lived at the missionary residence, from 1915 to 1918. The two women had worked together in Japan, where Jessie had served as an overseas missionary. Hibi was able to take leave from her work in Japan, but had to return after three or four years.
