Description: Document shows the final notice of removal of personal effects at the Powell Street and New Westminster United Churches.

Curatorial Note:

This is one of many documents that reveal due diligence on the part of Home Missions Superintendent Dr. Percy Bunt and the Rev. W.R. McWilliams. Personal effects of the Japanese congregations were held in trust by Home Missions, and after war's end, as former members dispersed, Percy Bunt attempted to return the belongings to their rightful owners, as far as possible. The "New Canadian" was a widely-read newspaper in the Japanese-Canadian community.
