Description: Copy of letter discussing the issue with Welfare Industries' offer on the Powell Street Church property.
Curatorial Note:
Rev. George Dorey's letter conveys the truth that the United Church knew the Powell Street Church property was worth $25,000 but was willing to sell it for $16,000. The understanding was that the United Church would receive the full amount in cash within 90 days. Later correspondence reveals that it took much longer to receive payment, and involved some badgering.
