Curatorial Note:
Visiting missionaries often drew large crowds. For example, Michi Kawai, Young Christian Women's Association secretary, Japan, visited Vancouver in July of 1914. According the Methodist Woman's Missionary Society reports, Kawai spoke to 200 Japanese women under the auspices of the Women's Buddhist Society, the Women's Patriotic Society, and the Women's Christian Society.
