Curatorial Note:
This correspondence reveals that the Board of Home Missions was unhappy about Welfare Industries' sale of the Powell Street building (at a profit), without consulting Home Missions or Vancouver Presbytery first. There is some irony in their indignation, in the sense that the Japanese United Church community was given no priority in discussions about the sale of the building, and their presence in the building had been considered a burden.
